Quick Cheese Strudel

 

16 oz cream cheese (2 lrg. pkg)

½ cup sugar

1 tsp. vanilla

1 tsp. lemon juice

1 egg, separated

2 pkg. crescent roll dough (8 oz. each)

powdered sugar

 

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Combine softened cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, juice, and egg yolk.  Mix until creamy.  Flatten 1 package of rolls, closing up the seams.  Cover the bottom of a greased 9x13 baking dish with pastry.  Pour in cream cheese mixture.  Roll out remaining dough on wax paper and lay onto cheese mixture.  Beat egg white until frothy.  Spread over crust.  Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.  Cool, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
