Maple Oatmeal Drops

 

½ cup butter (1 stick)

1 ¾ cups all purpose flour

½ cup brown sugar, packed

½ tsp baking soda

½ tsp cinnamon

1 egg

½ tsp ground ginger

½ cup dark maple syrup

¼ tsp salt

1/3 cup sour cream

1 ¼ cup quick rolled oats

 

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.  In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.  Add egg, maple syrup, and sour cream, to butter mixture.  Beat well.  In a small bowl, mix in the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, and salt.  Add flour mixture to cream mixture.  Stir in the oats.  Drop by spoonful on greased pan, bake in oven for 8 to 10 minutes.  In a small bowl, combine sugar and cinnamon to taste, set aside for decoration.  Remove baking sheet from the oven and sprinkle with cinnamon mixture.  Cool to room temperature.
