Pineapple & Apple Compote

 

1 can pineapple tidbits (20 oz)

5 lrg apples, peeled, sliced

¾ cup sugar

1/3 cup all purpose flour

2/3 cup shredded cheddar cheese

½ cup melted margarine

½ cup sliced almonds

½ cup pineapple juice

 

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.  Combine the pineapple, apples, sugar, flour, and cheese.  Spread the mixture in a 9x13 inch baking dish.  Combine the margarine, almonds and pineapple juice in a small bowl.  Pour over the apple-pineapple mixture.  Bake for 45 to 50 minutes or until steaming hot and just beginning to brown.
