Onion & Mushroom Stuffed Burger

 

1 ½ cups sliced onions

3 cups of mushrooms

1 Tbsp olive oil

2 ½ lbs lean ground beef

herbs and seasonings to spice up ground beef

8 slices favorite cheese

8 hamburger buns, split and toasted

 

 

In very large skillet sauté onions and mushrooms.  In large bowl mix beef, herbs and seasonings.  Combine, but do not over mix.  Shape mixture into 16, 3½” patties.  Spoon onion and mushroom mixture on to 8 patties.  Top with remaining patties, pinch to seal.  BBQ to 160 degrees on meat thermometer.  Top with favorite cheese in the last few minutes of cooking.  Add any toppings that you like.
