Buckeyes

1 ½ cup peanut butter

½ cup margarine, softened

1 tsp. vanilla

2 ½ cup powdered sugar

6 oz chocolate chips

2 Tbsp. shortening

Mix 1st 4 ingredients until smooth, will be stiff.  Shape into balls with hands using 2 teaspoons per ball.  Place on waxed paper and put into refrigerator.  Melt chocolate chips and 2 tbsp. shortening.  Remove balls from refrigerator, insert toothpick into balls and dip into chocolate so ¾ of the ball is coated.  Return to waxed paper, chocolate side down, remove toothpick, repeat with all balls.  Refrigerate balls on wax paper for at least 30 minutes.
